2009: Breaking radio silence
2009 brought about contemplation and examination of what is happening with me. 2008 ripped through existance so fast the boom hurt my ears. I did manage to get out to the West Coast and camp out on the island for the first time. An Olympiad made a mockery of Canadians, and around the same time oil was $145 a barrel. 2008 offered me my first Bear Market as a trader, and I'm sure the lessons will stick with me for a lifetime.
On the day of the first, I started thinking about goals for the upcoming year. Inevitably these thoughts brought me wonder about the condition of my life, and what I'd like to improve upon. These kinds of thoughts can eat you if you are not careful, and in order to keep a safe distance I relied on historical evidence.
Above is a tag cloud based on word frequencies for my writtings in 2008. The common glue words were removed, although a couple lesser words still managed to creep into higher usages; I believe the image is very telling of what goes through my brain on a regular basis.
